We All Play the Same Instrument A lot of people
believe that famous singers were born with magical vocal cords.
However, the definition of "muscle" proves that the vocal cords of a
famous singer are no different than yours. We are all human and
we all have the same muscles. You just need to learn how to play
your human instrument.
A PERFECT EXAMPLE
A lot of inexperienced singers have
the same question about their voice: "What the heck? How does
this thing work?" Well think of it like this.
You are at a concert and can't help but notice how amazing the guitar
player is. Is it his guitar that is special? No, it is just
like any other guitar. However, he has become very familiar with
his instrument and can play it very nicely. Well now lets say you
took his guitar backstage and messed with its tuning and switched
around the strings. He would come back on stage and sound
horrible. You know why? Because he would be unfamiliar with
his instrument. Now HE
would be saying, "What the heck? How does
this thing work?"
A lot of people
think singing is a mystery, but
it is only a mystery if you do not know how the voice works.
Again, we are all humans and share
the same muscles. When you see those huge bodybuilders on TV that
look like a pile of rocks, don't say "wow how did they get that big and
strong?" Everybody knows how they did it. They spent time
and hard work in the gym every day conditioning their muscles.
Well that is what you need to do with your voice. Condition it
everyday with proper technique and you too will be able to hit notes
like your favorite singer.
Think of your favorite singer right
now. Ok... Now, what is the difference between YOUR vocal cords
and THEIR vocal cords? NOTHING!
Of course there are
differences of length and thickness, but that just determines how deep
or high your natural sound will be; that is just like the difference
between the thickest string on a guitar and the thinnest string on a
guitar. The point is: WE ALL
HAVE THE SAME INSTRUMENT! Some
are just more experienced and know how to use their instrument. Now think of your favorite guitar
player. You can buy that same guitar. If you and your
favorite guitar player have the same instrument, then that means they
are only better than you at guitar because they are familiar with their
instrument. You and your favorite singer also share the same
instrument. The only difference is that they are more experienced
and familiar with their voice. With proper training, you too can
learn how to play your human instrument.
