The Right Approach

When I was a child, my father would take me fishing.  I would put some bait on the hook, cast the line, and if a fish didn't bite within 30 seconds then I would get upset, lose hope, and feel like I failed.  I am 20 years old and I have still never caught a fish.  You know why?  Because I had the wrong approach.  I wanted to catch a fish so badly that I failed to cooperate with the reality of the sport.  I didn't want to wait around patiently, I wanted the reward right away!

First, the best approach to setting and achieving goals is a realistic one.  Singing is something that anybody can learn how to do.  Your vocal cords are muscles and singing is a muscle coordination. It is muscle response memory. It is just like learning how to shoot a basketball or swing a golf club. Anybody can learn how to do it, you just need the right methods.  However, that doesn't mean you are going to be able to swing a club like Tiger Woods, shoot a basketball like Michael Jordan, or throw a football like Joe Montana after only a few months of training.

Some over-achievers like to set realistic goals, where as some under-achievers like to set their goals way too high.  If you set a realistic goal, then you will be able to reach that goal and then say "ok, that was no big deal, now lets go one step further."  If you take baby steps then you will reach higher and higher goals at a steady and relaxing pace which is less stressful.  However, if you set your goals really high then you are going to lose hope and confidence very fast because you are reaching too high.  You might not be able to take those huge steps and you will get frustrated.  So now you will be saying, "this is so hard, I'm never gonna make it..."

See how much of a difference it makes?  Your mind controls your body, and you control your mind.  There are a lot of mental blocks when it comes to singing, and there are easy ways to get rid of these mental blocks which will make the learning process much easier.

So the next time your eye catches something on top of the mountain, take the stairs instead of trying to flap your arms and fly to the top.  Think realistically and take the realistic approach.

Singing Success will improve your voice.  Singing Success will allow you to take complete control over your vocal production.  Singing Success will give you the tools you need to succeed and teach you how to use them.  But in the end, it is up to you to decide what you will do with your newly acquired arsenal of skills.

Someone can teach you how to build a house, but its up to you as an artist to design the inside so it is attractive to buyers.  Someone can teach you how to build a car, but its up to you as an artist to make it look attractive to the buyer.  Someone can teach you how to run a business, but its up to you as an artist to be creative and think of an idea that will attract buyers.

Lastly, someone can definitely teach you how to sing with an amazing voice... but its up to you as an artist to make music that people will enjoy.

And that will ultimately lead to your success as a singer...
